Palaces for sale in Poland
Palaces in Poland- brief introduction to Polish palaces
Palaces in Poland are large estates comprising monumental stylish building and a large area of land or parkland. In architecture, a palace is a natural progression from a castle and it started from the renaissance period. As Polish aristocratic families were gaining more and more power, they started showing off their wealth and the best way to judge their power was by the property they lived in and the amount of land that was in their possesion. Most Polish palaces had been built between XVII and XIX century. The most famous palace in Poland is Wilanow Palace, located in the city of Warsaw.
Interesting fact is, that around 25% of polish palaces and castles are located in Lower Silesia, the administrative and historic region which borders with both Germany and Czech Republic. There are reasons for such statistics, as Lower Silesia throughout its turbulent history changed hands - it had belonged to each Poland, Germany and Czech Republic over the centuries.

Palaces in Poland - palaces for sale
Many of palaces in Poland, like castles, are protected by Polish law and are heritage listed. Some of them need major or minor refurbishment and await investors who are willing to bring back their finest moments. As well as castles, it is common nowadays in Poland for invetors, to buy and convert a ruined palace into a luxury hotel, conference center or any other accommodation or touristic establishment.
Like castles, when buying a palace in Poland, you should consider several factors prior to buying. Is the property heritage listed? What spacial management plan says about what conversions are and are not possible to the palace? Who is the owner? Private person or local authority? Again, we do not advise that you buy a palace completely on your own, unless you speak fluent Polish and are familiar with Polish property legislation. It is highly advisable that you use the knowledge and expertise of Polish estate agent. Additionally, you should consult a Polish lawyer or your representative to check everything for you, so that your purchase is safe and uninterrupted.
On the other hand, you can buy a palace in an excellent shape and condition, ready to inhabitate. In this way you will not be engaged in any restoration process, but of course will pay much more. But again, as you are probably buying heritage listed property and its value is much higher that that of an average house, every precautions are advisable.
